One day a boy found a penguin at his door. The boy didn’t know where it had come from, but it began to follow him everywhere. The penguin looked so sad, and the boy thought it must be lost and he should help it find the way home.

　　一天，一個(gè)小男孩在自家門(mén)口發(fā)現(xiàn)了一只企鵝。小男孩不知道企鵝是從哪里冒出來(lái)的，可它卻開(kāi)始跟著他。這只企鵝看上去憂傷極了。小男孩想，它肯定是迷路了，他應(yīng)該幫它找到回家的路。

　　So together, they packed everything they would need during the journey to the South Pole. And together they pushed their rowboat out to sea. They rowed south for many days and nights with the boy telling stories all the way. The penguin listened to everything that the boy said.

　　于是，小男孩和小企鵝一起將去往南極的路上需要的行李收拾好。他們一起把小船推入了大海，向南邊劃去，一天天過(guò)去了，一夜夜過(guò)去了，一路上小男孩講了一個(gè)又一個(gè)故事。不管他講什么，小企鵝都認(rèn)真地聽(tīng)著。

　　They floated through good and bad weather on the sea, and in bad weather, the stormy waves were as big as mountains. In the end, they came to the South Pole. The boy was delighted, but the penguin said nothing. The boy said goodbye and floated away. But as he looked back, the penguin looked sadder than ever.

　　在海上漂流時(shí)，他們經(jīng)歷過(guò)的天氣有好有壞。天氣不好時(shí)，洶涌澎湃的海浪如同高山。最后他們終于來(lái)到了南極。小男孩高興極了，可是小企鵝卻一言未發(fā)。小男孩說(shuō)聲再見(jiàn)后劃著船離開(kāi)了。但是，當(dāng)他回頭看的時(shí)候，小企鵝看上去比任何時(shí)候都哀傷。

　　He suddenly realized the penguin wasn’t lost. It was just lonely. Quickly he turned the boat around and headed back to the South Pole as fast as he could. At last he reached the South Pole again. The boy searched and searched but the penguin was nowhere to be found.

　　他突然意識(shí)到小企鵝根本不是迷路，它只是孤單。小男孩趕緊掉轉(zhuǎn)船頭，用盡全力劃回南極，終于他又回到了南極。小男孩找呀找，可是連小企鵝的影子也沒(méi)見(jiàn)著。

　　Sadly the boy set off for home. There was no point telling stories on the way home because there was no one to listen, except the wind and the waves. But suddenly the boy saw something in the water ahead of him. Closer and closer he got until he could see it clearly--it was the penguin. It was searching for the boy.

　　他只能怏怏地回去了。一路上，他講故事的興致一點(diǎn)也沒(méi)有，因?yàn)闆](méi)有誰(shuí)會(huì)聽(tīng)到，除了風(fēng)就是海浪。但是，小男孩忽然看到前方的水面上有什么東西，和它越來(lái)越近了，越來(lái)越近了，終于，他看清了，那是小企鵝。它一直在找他呢！

　　When you really care about a friend, you never leave him or her alone.
